Wheel Trim for 12' steels
Hi all,
Have got 12" steels on my Mayfair and would like to get sum new trim for them as the old ones are in a bit of a state, I can't find any in the the usual car shops they all seem to start at 13", just wondered if anyone knew where i could get them.
As im only 18 i would prefer to not get alloys as the insurance companies seem have a massive issue with them, has anyone else found this problem or know of a way around it (apart from not telling them!).
Thanks muchly
Sarah

cooper s steel wheels
Hi all, I know this has been discussed a million times but im confused. Ive seen variuos versions of the steel wheel the ones with the 10 hole vents in them some are wide deep dish and some look normal like the standard steel wheel. Now ive been told that the reverse rim will not fit any other mini apart from the cooper s. What about the normal looking ones, not deep dish will these fit ?? Sorry if i confused the matter but i would like to fit a set to my 64 super deluxe and dont fancy spending a fortune for nothing. Tks James Malta

alloy minilights wheels
Definitely not. The Mayfair was basic spec, so had steel wheels with plastic trims.

Mini Spares Brake conversion with 4 pot callipers
Has anybody done this conversion and run the cooper LP918 steel wheels? I want to do this conversion on my car which has the cooper steels but it says that it might foul on steel wheels. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Wheel identification
there just standard 3.5"x 10" made by smith who still make steel wheels, 10" mini wheels were made by few differnt manufactureres and offsets vary on differnt periods. They should take the chrome centre caps, they set early mini's off nicely. 145 width tires is max width tire they will take. thank kinda info ur after?

did think about it but weight wouldnt make it very easy. to get big dc motors is hard and to get something big enouth to power a mini say 20bhp would be min. firstly will need a ton of batteryies and secondly i dunno who makes dc motors that big. il make it steel tubular frame and fibreglass/aluminium so wont weight much apart from batteryies. il have to look into it peel p50 used 5" wheels which is tiny. might be easyier to go little bigger and make it practical and streamlined

Re.
Its best to ask the local tyre centre but considering your rim is only 1/2" wider the standard I cant see a problem with it. I ran 5x10" steels for 4 years with 145`s, the rims fatigue cracked around the hub nuts on the front wheels ( Weller crap!) but the tyres never fell off!!!! Just bear in mind the offset of the alloy combined with the aspect ratio of the 145 tyre will probably rub your front wheel arch edge unless its been modified.

64 Morris Van
Hi, I am restoring a 64 Morris mini Van-it was well butchered when I found it with flat steel floors. My question relates to the proper location of the battery and of the spare wheel/jack. Any photo would be worth 1,000 words ....
